According to Lord Green, Minister for Trade and Investment, small businesses need to be nurtured as a crucial export. In a May 2012 interview, Lord Green went on to say how British standards are recognised around the world, and small businesses should be capitalising on this with help from the UKTI.
Green’s aim is to increase the number of small/medium business exporting by 100,000 over the next five years. Sound a bit daunting? UKTI is urging small businesses to hunt for clients and trading partners outside the European market. Green’s latest initiative mainly covers improvements to how small business are covered by insurance when trading overseas.
