Frequently asked questions

If you have any further questions about our range of Pods, or our Bespoke design services that are
not covered in the FAQs below do not hesitate to get in touch

Can my Pod be customised for me?

All of our Garden and Office Pods can be customised to your individual requirements so if the existing position of windows and doors don't quite suit your site we can alter them to make the best use of the light and views. We can even design a completely bespoke Pod to the exact dimensions and layout that you have in mind. If you want something completely different Pod Space's experienced design team are happy to discuss your requirements.

How long will you need access to my site?

This is entirely dependent on the size of the Pod and whether we can deliver as a complete unit or site installation of pre-fabricated panels. We will always aim to undertake as much work as possible in the workshop to reduce the time required and impact on your site. We will typically be on site between 2 days and 3 weeks.

What are the advantages of an Eco Pod over a traditional brick construction?

Our Eco Pods are designed with the natural environment in mind so the materials we use will complement their surrounding space rather than imposing on it. Our Pods are usually detached spaces rather than extensions so if yours is a Garden Pod then it will be a definable separate space away from the house. As we use a pre-fabricated modular system they also offer the advantage of being much quicker to install on site.

Will my Pod need planning permission?

Our standard Garden Pods have been designed to meet planning policy 'permitted development' and therefore in most cases will not require planning permission. In certain circumstances however such as if you live in a national park / AONB or your pod exceeds over 50% of your garden area then it is likely you will require planning consent. For our commercial clients or those who will require planning permission Pod Space are happy to consult with your local authority and apply for planning permission on your behalf.

Can the pod be relocated or extended

Pod Space's Garden and Office Pods can be craned in and out as a complete unit dependent on the size of Pod and on suitability of access to the site. We can even extend your Pod to include additional space at a later date as your needs change.

Is my pod guaranteed?

All our Garden and Office Pods are designed and engineered to comply with current building regulations. For your assurance your pod will come with a five year guarantee on the structural and waterproof integrity as standard. Fixtures and fittings are guaranteed for 12 months or for the manufacturer's warranty. Correctly maintained, your Pod should last with minimal maintenance for several decades.

Can you supply services to my pod?

It is usually possible to link up water, electricity, telecoms, and drainage. We will arrange a site survey prior to delivery of your Pod and provide you with a quote for installation of services.

When will I get my pod?

Our lead times vary seasonally so for current timescales get in touch. However, depending on the size of your Pod project, it can normally be fully installed and ready to use in around 12 to 16 weeks.
