Pod Space are proud to announce a winning entry in the Red Dot Product Design 2017 awards. It’s with great excitement and huge pride that we can announce our brand new Glide Pod has been awarded the prestigious Red Dot Product Design 2017 award.
Competing against industry leading manufacturers and designers from around the world the Glide Pod has impressed an expert jury of 40 independent designers, design professors and specialist journalists who tested, discussed and assessed each individual product before awarding Pod Space with the coveted distinction of the Red Dot. This tremendous recognition means our Glide Pod now comes with the Red Dot internationally sought-after Seal of Quality.
In 1955, a jury convened for the first time to assess the best designs of the day. 60 years on and the competition has grown to become the one of the world’s largest design competitions. In 2017 the Red Dot awards attracted more than 5,500 entries from 54 countries. Professor Dr. Peter Zec, founder and CEO of the Red Dot Award commented: “The Red Dot winners are pursuing the right design strategy. They have recognised that good design and economic success go hand in hand. The award by the critical Red Dot jury documents their high design quality and is indicative of their successful design policy.”
Pod Space encourages a culture of innovation and our 2016 design developments followed a significant investment in research and development so we are particularly proud to have been recognised in the field of Urban Design. The judges were impressed by the use of natural materials blending effortlessly alongside bold contrasting composites, slimline doors and frameless tall windows.
Designed for 2016, our latest Glide Pod has proved to be a very popular design. It has provided the perfect space for many different purposes from a productive garden office to a corporate meeting space and many more uses in between.
We couldn’t be more delighted to be given Red Dot’s seal of quality for good design and innovation and for the Glide Pod to be recognised as one of the outstanding designs of the year.
