Pod Space was asked to create a versatile garden studio as the centrepiece of a new garden landscaping scheme for Alex in Surrey. We worked in collaboration with her garden designer to create the perfect pod.
Designed as a gym and relaxation room, this contemporary garden studio was completely bespoke to Alex. Externally, its structure and design features formed a seamless partnership between the garden and the garden room.
Horizontal black cladding, which is a feature of our new Glide Pod, beautifully reflected the landscape gardener’s plans for black timber screens and slate paving. The natural tones of the Siberian larch timber also worked well together with the green planting scheme.
We positioned the pod so that the garden room benefited from the wealth of natural light in the garden. The bespoke mirrored sliding doors take in the view across the garden, and in particular a calming water feature.
The new Glide Pod is now home to exercise equipment, contained within a recessed area. Its large relaxation area overlooks the beautiful garden, and when the doors are open, to sounds of tinkling water. We’re incredibly pleased to say that Alex and her partner use their pod daily, helping them take time out to make the most of their garden. It’s a relaxing space with which they are truly delighted.
